Through the creation of a public/private partnership, new parents and parents-to-be in the pilot project areas will receive up-to-date information relative to necessary pre-natal care, and the medical, developmental, social and physical development of their child. Informed parents are better able to make decisions that will have positive influences on their children from health care to development and education.

Project Description:
Development of a public/private partnership in the pilot areas that will provide current, medically reliable information to new parents and parents-to-be. Funding will help to develop materials, ensure dissemination of age appropriate medical, social, physical and development information and to establish an evaluation procedure to reliably qualify the effectiveness of the provision of this information on the health, welfare and educational development.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
All new parents and parents-to-be will be provided with information to better understand and care for the needs of their child. Through the evaluation tool, the pilot will study the effectiveness of the provision of this information on the child's long term health, development and educational success.
