The basin contains water bodies of significance to the state such as the Econlockhatchee River, the Wekiva River, and Lakes Jesup, Monroe, and Harney.

Project Description:
The Middle St. Johns River Basin Initiative is an ongoing project to restore and enhance the middle St. Johns River and its tributaries. This basin is in an area where population and water use are expected to grow. Funding through this initiative will help to restore and enhance this portion of the river and its lakes and tributaries. Examples of subprojects that could be funded through this request follow. The projects are organized by type of match and are in alphabetical order; the list is not a complete list.
