General Bill   by Roberson, K. (CO-SPONSORS) Horner; Plakon; Workman
Florida Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services Act: Prohibits issuance or renewal of license to applicant with specified criminal records; requires disclosure of certain criminal pleas & records; revises eligibility & application requirements for limited licenses; deletes limits on continuing education credit for attendance at certain board meetings; authorizes discipline for certain criminal pleas; revises requirements & extends time for completing course on communicable diseases; authorizes cemetery companies & preneed licensees to charge fees for certain contracts & exempts charges from trust deposit requirements; revises eligibility requirements for funeral director & temporary funeral director licenses; revises supervision of temporary funeral directors, provisional licensees, & funeral director interns; revises intern application requirements; establishes funeral director apprenticeship program; requires procedures & criteria for approval of apprentice training agencies; provides maximum number of apprentices per training agency; provides for training supervision & reporting of training activities; provides eligibility & application requirements for apprentice licenses; authorizes & prohibits fees; requires funeral director to have embalmer license under certain circumstances; deletes instate deposit requirement for trust payments; revises application requirements for direct disposers; requires courses on communicable diseases & on ethics; requires direct disposal establishment to have licensed funeral director in charge; repeals course on HIV & AIDS.
