HB 1261 CS (2004) -  Hazing

Specifies conduct that constitutes hazing at certain high schools; revises the conduct that constitutes hazing at postsecondary institutions; provides for third degree felony offenses of hazing; provides for a first degree misdemeanor offenses of hazing; specifies the elements of each offense; provides for criminal penalties; requires the court to impose a hazing education course as a condition of sentence in certain circumstances; authorizes the court to impose a condition of drug or alcohol probation in certain circumstances; specifies circumstances that do not constitute a valid defense to a prosecution of hazing; provides a popular name;
Effective Date: October 1, 2004, and shall apply to offenses committed on or after that date
