HB 1627 (2004) -  Charter Schools

Authorizes community colleges and state universities to sponsor charter schools on their own or in partnership with independent postsecondary educational institutions; revises provisions relating to compliance with building construction standards; provides jurisdiction for inspections; provides an exemption from assessment of fees; provides for the use of educational impact fees; requires a charter school sponsor to provide additional services; revises provisions relating to eligibility for charter school capital outlay funding and the purposes for which such funds may be used; deletes certain provisions relating to allocation of appropriated funds.
