Creates the Board of Interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing under the Department of Business and Professional Regulation; provides for appointment, qualifications, and terms of board members; provides for board headquarters; requires certain persons to be licensed or hold a permit to practice; provides for license and permit application and renewal, reinstatement, extension, suspension, and revocation; provides rulemaking authority; provides for application, examination, license, and permit fees; provides restrictions on and qualifications for licensure and permit holding; provides for licensure and permit types; provides for surrender or seizure of suspended or revoked licenses and permits; requires payment of certain fee upon reinstatement; prohibits practice under certain circumstances; provides requirements for inactive status; provides continuing education requirements; provides requirements for submitting certain complaints; requires the board to compile certain complaint data; provides that disciplinary proceedings shall be conducted under s. 456.073, F.S.; provides grounds for board recommendation of revocation or suspension of license or permit or other disciplinary action; provides exemptions from regulation under the part; prohibits certain acts; provides penalties; establishes privilege for certain conversations; provides for voluntary disclosure of certain privileged conservations; provides rulemaking authority.
