Exempts from public-records requirements information & records reported to DOH under electronic monitoring system for prescription of controlled substances listed in Schedules II-IV; authorizes certain persons & entities access to patient-identifying information; provides guidelines for use of such information & penalties for violations; provides for future legislative review & repeal; provides finding of public necessity.
Effective Date: July 1, 2007, if House Bill 893, or similar legislation establishing an electronic system to monitor the prescribing of controlled substances, is adopted in the same legislative session or an extension thereof and becomes law.
