General Bill
Illegal Aliens in the Correctional System:
Requires DOC & Parole Commission to establish agreements to implement federal deportation program for certain state inmates; requires DOC to identify during reception inmates eligible for deportation; requires coordination with federal authorities; specifies that eligible inmates waive specified rights & cooperate with authorities; requires CRA to establish control release dates; authorizes control release dates to occur after alien has served 50 percent of sentence; requires CRA to give notice to aliens concerning illegal reentry to US; requires aliens to waive extradition if alien illegally reenters; prohibits aliens from benefiting from control release awards when removal is not reasonably foreseeable; requires CRA to implement program to execute an immediate deportation order; provides that control release dates for deportation do not become void when inmate population changes; authorizes extension or advancement of control release date based upon arrangements for transfer of custody pending deportation.
