General Bill by Civil Justice & Courts Policy Committee and Horner (CO-SPONSORS) Burgin; Coley; Eisnaugle; Flores; Fresen; Grimsley; Hays; Legg; McKeel; Murzin; Plakon; Precourt; Roberson, K.; Stargel; Williams, T.; Workman; Zapata
Parental Authority: Authorizes natural guardians to waive & release, in advance, any claim or cause of action that would accrue to any of their minor children to same extent that any adult may do so on his or her own behalf; provides that such waivers & releases are disfavored & must be strictly construed against party claiming to be relieved of liability; provides readability requirements for wording of such waivers & releases; provides that such waiver & release may not be construed to apply to illegal acts.
