General Bill by Military & Local Affairs Policy Committee and Scionti (CO-SPONSORS) Abruzzo; Hukill; Jenne; Proctor; Sachs; Zapata
Military Affairs: Clarifies & updates references with respect to courts-martial; revises applicability of provisions with respect to immunity from penalization for National Guard members ordered into state active duty by employers; requires National Guard members to notify employers of intent to return to work; provides exceptions under which employers are not required to allow such members to return to work; provides for entitlement to seniority & other rights & benefits for National Guard members returning to work following state active duty; provides that such members may not be discharged from employment except for cause; provides rights & requirements with respect to use of vacation & leave by such members; removes limitation with respect to right of employee ordered into state active duty to bring civil action for specified violation by employer; provides for imposition of civil penalty for specified noncompliance with specified provisions of ch. 250, F.S., or with other specified provisions of federal law.
