General Bill
Firefighters:
Requires that all identifiable witnesses to complaint against firefighter be interviewed, whenever possible, prior to interrogation of accused firefighter; requires that accused firefighter be furnished with complaint & witness statements prior to any interrogation of that firefighter; provides for waiver of right to review witness statements by firefighter; prohibits firefighter from being threatened with transfer, dismissal, or disciplinary action as inducement to answer any questions during interrogation; provides requirements with respect to provision of copies of recordings made during formal interrogation of firefighter; provides firefighters with certain rights relating to dismissal, demotion, transfer, reassignment, or other personnel action which might result in loss of pay or benefits or otherwise be considered punitive; provides for production of investigative report & supporting documents in disciplinary case against firefighter to that firefighter prior to imposition of certain disciplinary actions.
