GENERAL BILL   by Zapata (CO-SPONSORS) Bovo; Braynon; Brisé; Bullard; Bush; Garcia; Gonzalez; Planas; Robaina; Roberson, Y.; Steinberg
Discretionary Sales Surtaxes: Authorizes constitutional charter county to levy voter-approved surtax for community college in county; provides restrictions on source of expenses for referendum relating to surtax; requires referendum notice; provides for maximum rate of surtax; provides requirements for ordinance imposing surtax; provides purposes for which surtax proceeds may be used; provides for investment of proceeds; provides for automatic expiration of surtax unless reenacted by ordinance; provides for surtax proceeds to be deposited into separate fund & promptly disbursed to board of trustees; provides that other funding may not be reduced because community college has received such proceeds.
