Spring Hill Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services District, Hernando County: Creates special district & charter; provides boundaries & purpose; provides for board of commissioners & election & terms of commissioners; provides powers & duties of board; provides for ad valorem taxation, user charges, impact fees, & special assessments; provides authority to borrow money; provides for records; requires annual report; provides for annexation & dissolution; provides for immunity from tort liability; provides for referendum.
Effective Date: June 11, 2009, except that the provisions of section 6 that authorize the levy of ad valorem taxation shall take effect only upon express approval by a majority vote of those qualified electors of the Spring Hill Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services District, as required by Section 9 of Article VII of the State Constitution, voting in the referendum held pursuant to section 24. Such election shall be held in accordance with the provisions of general law relating to elections
