HB 25 - Temporary and Concurrent Custody of a Child
GENERAL BILL   by Glorioso (CO-SPONSORS) Bullard
Temporary and Concurrent Custody of a Child: Revises provisions relating to petitions & court orders awarding temporary custody of child to extended family member, to also provide for concurrent custody with parents of child; revises petition for concurrent custody to require additional information; provides that if parent objects to petition for concurrent custody, court may not grant petition & must give petitioner option of converting petition to one for temporary custody; provides for dismissal of petition; provides that order granting concurrent custody does not affect ability of parents to obtain physical custody of child at any time; provides for court to terminate order for concurrent custody if parent withdraws his or her consent to order.
