HB 1197 - Surgical Technology

General Bill   by Renuart (CO-SPONSORS) McBurney; Van Zant
Surgical Technology: Provides legislative intent; provides requirements for training & certification for surgical technologist; provides for continuing education requirements; provides contracting, employment & supervision guidelines for health care facility employing certified surgical technologist; allows licensed practitioner to perform surgical technology as long as such practitioner is performing within his or her scope of practice; allows a student or resident in specific areas of medicine to perform surgical technology as long as such student or resident is performing within scope of his or her duties; requires AHCA to enforce new requirements.
