Daily Order of BusinessFor the House, the daily order of business is the sequence in which items of business are to be considered once the chamber convenes in session.
DebateLegislators have the option of offering argument in opposition or support of an issue during session or a council or committee meeting.
Delegation, LegislativeA delegation refers to a group of legislators who represent parts of the same county or geographical area.
DistrictA district is the area from which a State Senator, Representative, or Congressman is elected.  The boundaries of State legislative and congressional districts are drawn during the apportionment and redistricting process.  See Apportionment and Redistricting.
District StaffPersonnel employed by a legislator to work in his or her district office are known as district staff.
