  • Advisory Panel to Study Practitioner Prescribing Patterns

    The Advisory Panel to Study Practitioner Prescribing Patterns works with the Agency for Healthcare Administration to evaluate medical practitioners within the Medicaid program and ensure they are not inappropriately or insufficiently prescribing medication. Eventually the program will create restrictions for practitioners who continue to prescribe above the norm.

  • Automobile Insurance Fraud Strike Force

    Created under the Department of Financial Services to support prosecution, investigation, and prevention of motor vehicle insurance fraud.

  • Biomedical Research Advisory Council (BRAC)

    The James and Esther King Biomedical Research Program works within the Department of Health to proved a perpetual annual source of funding for research in the areas of tobacco-related cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and pulmonary disease. The goal of the program is to improve Florida’s biomedical knowledge base relating to these health issues, and to stimulate economic development in biomedical development.

    The Council on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys studies adverse societal conditions effecting black males including homicide rates, arrest and incarceration rates, poverty, drug abuse, death rates, school performance, and health issues and propose measures to correct the underlying causes of these issues.

  • Museum of Florida History’s Ad-Hoc Committee - The Great Floridians Program

    The Museum of Florida History’s Ad-Hoc Committee Great Floridians Program is responsible for meeting at least twice a year to select nominees to receive a Great Floridian designation. Great Floridians are present or former citizens of the state, either living or deceased, who have made major contributions to the development of the nation or state. Nominations made by the committee are passed on to the Secretary of State who chooses the recipient of the designation.

    The Purple Ribbon Task Force will assess the current and future impact of Alzheimer’s disease on Floridians and the state’s health care system, programs, resources and services to ensure the continued development and implementation of a more inclusive, integrated, comprehensive, coordinated, and current strategy to address the needs of the growing number of Floridians having Alzheimer’s disease or a related form of dementia and the corresponding needs of their caregivers

  • SCRIPPS Florida Funding Corporation Board of Directors

  • Small Business Air Pollution Compliance Advisory Panel (CAP)

    The CAP renders advice on the effectiveness of the Small Business Environmental Assistance Program and the difficulties encountered by small business. They review information for stationary air pollution sources to assure the information is understandable to the small business community.

  • State Council on Interstate Educational Opportunity for Military Children

    The Council provides advice and recommendations regarding the state’s participation in and compliance with the compact and Interstate Commission on Educational Opportunity for Military Children activities. The council shall provide the Governor with names of at least three, but no more than five, persons who are recommended by the council to serve as the Military Family Education Liaison.

  • Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Advisory Council

    The Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Advisory Council advises and reviews a statewide program aimed at reducing the prevalence of tobacco usage among youth, adults, and pregnant women. The program includes the funding of educational marketing campaigns, community and youth programs, as well as counseling and referral services to those struggling with tobacco use related habits or diseases.
