Advisory Council for the DOH Website Information Clearinghouse on Developmental Disabilities

The council shall provide technical assistance to the Department of Health in the establishment of the information clearinghouse and give the department the benefit of the council members’ knowledge and experience relating to the needs of patients and families of patients with developmental disabilities and available support services.

Alzheimer's Disease Advisory Committee

The Alzeimer's Disease Advisory Committee advises the Department of Elder Affairs regarding legislative, programmatic, and administrative matters that relate to persons living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caretakers.

Biomedical Research Advisory Council (BRAC)

The James and Esther King Biomedical Research Program works within the Department of Health to provided a perpetual annual source of funding for research in the areas of tobacco-related cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and pulmonary disease. The goal of the program is to improve Florida’s biomedical knowledge base relating to these health issues, and to stimulate economic development in biomedical development.

Blood Clot and Pulmonary Embolism Policy Workgroup

Cancer Connect Collaborative

The Cancer Connect Collaborative is created within the Florida Department of Health to advise the department and the Legislature on developing a holistic approach to the state’s efforts to fund cancer research, cancer facilities, and treatments for cancer patients.

Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors

Citizens is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt government corporation whose public purpose is to provide insurance protection to Florida property owners throughout the state.

Commission on Mental Health & Substance Abuse

The Commission on Mental Health & Substance Abuse examines the current methods of providing mental health and substance abuse services and methods to improve the effectiveness of current practices, procedures, programs, and initiatives; identifies barriers or deficiencies in the delivery of such services; and makes recommendations for changes to existing laws, rules, and policies. The commission must submit reports by September 1, 2022 and 2023, and is repealed September 1, 2023. Section 394.9086, F.S. (2021).

Constitution Revision Commission

The Constitution Revision Commission, established in the Florida Constitution in 1968, has the authority to propose to voters a revision of all or any part of the Constitution. The Commission must meet every 20 years.

Council on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys

The Council on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys studies adverse societal conditions effecting black males including homicide rates, arrest and incarceration rates, poverty, drug abuse, death rates, school performance, and health issues and propose measures to correct the underlying causes of these issues.

Direct Support Organization for the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking

Florida ABLE, Inc. Board of Directors

Florida ABLE, Inc., is a direct support organization for the ABLE Program within the Florida Prepaid College Board. The ABLE program administers tax-exempt accounts containing private funds to pay for the qualified disability expenses of eligible individuals with disabilities.

Florida Center for Brain Tumor Research Scientific Advisor Council

The Florida Center for Brain Tumor Research Scientific Advisory Council advises a coordinated research effort to treat and cure cancerous and non-cancerous brain tumors. The Council works with The Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Institute of the University of Florida who collaborate with other brain cancer research institutions in a unified effort to cure brain tumors.

Florida Defense Support Task Force

Florida Education Fund Board of Directors

Florida Elections Commission

Florida Small Business Development Center Network Advisory Board

The network is the principal business assistance organization for small businesses in the state. Rare Disease Advisory Council

Taxation and Budget Reform Commission

The Taxation and Budget Reform Commission, established by the Florida Constitution, convenes once every twenty years and is broadly charged with examining the state planning and budget processes, state and local government revenue needs, expenditure processes of the state, the appropriateness of the state tax structure and governmental productivity and efficiency.

Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Advisory Council

The Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Advisory Council advises and reviews a statewide program aimed at reducing the prevalence of tobacco usage among youth, adults, and pregnant women. The program includes the funding of educational marketing campaigns, community and youth programs, as well as counseling and referral services to those struggling with tobacco use related habits or diseases.

Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc. Board of Directors

The corporation is created within the Department of Economic Opportunity to administer the Recovery Fund for the benefit of disproportionately affected counties that experienced economic damage from the Deepwater Horizon disaster. The corporation monitors, reviews, and evaluates awardees and related projects or programs created under the Gulf Coast Economic Corridor Act. The board of directors shall review the Recovery Fund, establish and review priorities for economic recovery in disproportionately affected counties, and determine use of the earnings available.
