General Bill
Florida Building Code:
Revises provisions relating to the Florida Building Code; Provides for readoption of local technical amendments; provides for maintaining the code current with national standards; provides for nominations and Governor appointments of Florida Building Commission members; provides requirements, procedures, limitations, and criteria for regional emergency elevator access; provides duties of the State Fire Marshal; provides for interpretations of the building code; authorizes local governments to impose fees for code enforcement; authorizes the Florida Building Commission to expedite adoption and implementation of the state existing building code as the Florida Building Code; requires the commission to submit the building code adopted by the commission, with recommendations and revisions, to the Legislature for approval; creates the Florida Construction Council; revises membership of the Elevator Safety Technical Advisory Committee; prohibits pyrotechnic device installation in facilities, with limitations.
Effective Date:
This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
