HB 1101 (2005) -  Nurse Licensure Compact

Incorporates the Nurse Licensure Compact into the Nurse Practice Act; provides for implementation of the compact; requires the Board of Nursing to adopt rules to conform with the compact; provides legislative intent, findings, purpose, and definitions; provides jurisdiction; provides for applications for licensure; provides for adverse actions by the licensing board; provides for additional authority given to licensing boards; provides for a coordinated licensure information system; provides for compact administration and interchange of information; provides for immunity; provides for the state's ability to withdraw and amend the compact; provides for statutory construction and severability; provides for an implementation date to be set; provides for a professional nurse with a multistate licensure privilege from a compact state to be certified as an advanced registered nurse practitioner; creates requirements for submission of employment data, education, and other workforce information to the Board of Nursing; creates provisions for retired nurse status; revises restrictions on use of professional titles; provides an exception to practice nursing for licensees from a compact state and provides for a temporary license for successful examination candidates without a social security number; creates a definition of the practice of certified nursing assistant; revises the powers and duties of the board with respect to certified nursing assistants; revises grounds for disciplinary actions against certified nursing assistants.
