Specialty Nursing:
Defines the terms "clinical nurse specialist practice" and "clinical nurse specialist"; provides requirements for certification as a clinical nurse specialist; provides fees; authorizes the Board of Nursing to adopt rules; adds clinical nurse specialist to the classifications of advanced registered nurse practitioners; requires advanced registered nurse practitioners to register with the board to prescribe medicinal drugs, including controlled substances; provides requirements for registration and renewal of registration, including continuing education; provides fees; prohibits prescription of controlled substances for personal use or the use of immediate family members; provides for disciplinary actions; authorizes the board to adopt rules; restricts the use of professional titles and abbreviations relating to clinical nurse specialist, certified registered nurse anesthetist, and certified nurse midwife practice; provides penalties; prohibits the use of any name or title stating or implying that a person is a clinical nurse specialist, certified registered nurse anesthetist, or certified nurse midwife unless the person is licensed or certified; provides penalties; redefines the term "practitioner" under the Florida Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act to include certain advanced registered nurse practitioners.
