General Bill
Public Service Commission:
Removes legislative intent relating to the appointment of members to the Public Service Commission; provides that, beginning with the general election of 2006, commissioners shall be elected to serve on the commission; removes provisions for appointing members to the commission; provides that a commissioner is elected to serve a 4-year term; provides for a staggered election in 2006; requires the Committee on Public Service Commission Oversight to oversee the operations of the commission; requires the committee to report to the Legislature at least once each year on the activities of the commission; repeals a provision relating to the formation and duties of the Florida Public Service Commission Nominating Council.
