HB 785 (2006) -  Statewide Assessment Program for Public Schools

Revises provisions relating to the design and implementation of the FCAT; deletes obsolete language relating to students taking the grade 10 FCAT; authorizes the State Board of Education to adopt rules specifying grade 10 FCAT passing scores; revises provisions relating to test accommodations for students in exceptional education programs and students who have limited English proficiency; authorizes certain accommodations if included in a student's individual education plan and access to a waiver of grade 10 FCAT requirements for high school graduation; requires rulemaking; requires universal design principles and accessibility standards or web-based assessments that will prevent unintended obstacles for students with disabilities; provides field testing and analysis requirements; requires rules for FCAT waiver application procedures.
