HB 1213 (2006) -  Exceptional Student Evaluation

Requires fully informed consent by a parent prior to his or her child's evaluation for an emotional, behavioral, or mental disorder, a specific learning disability, or other health impairment; specifies the contents of a statement that must be signed by a parent and maintained in a student's school records; includes in the statement an understanding that an evaluation may result in a diagnosis for which psychotropic or psychiatric medications may be prescribed.
Effective Date: July 1, 2006.
