General Bill
Protect Our Homes Loss Mitigation Fund:
Creates the Protect Our Homes Loss Mitigation Fund in the Office of Insurance Regulation of the Financial Services Commission; provides a purpose; provides for administration of the fund by a board; requires the board to establish guidelines for use of appropriated funds; provides requirements of the board in providing financial incentives for residential hurricane damage prevention activities; provides for an interest-free loan program; provides program criteria and requirements; creates the Protect Our Homes Mitigation Board to administer the fund; provides for appointment of members; requires members to serve without compensation; provides for per diem and travel expenses; provides for retention of funds in the fund from year to year; provides for future review and termination of the fund; provides an appropriation.
Effective Date:
on the same date House Bill 1209 or similar legislation takes effect, if such legislation is adopted in the same legislative session or an extension thereof and becomes a law.
