General Bill
Restoration of Voting Rights:
Provides for automatic restoration of former felon's right to vote following completion of sentence of incarceration & community supervision; provides conditions for & exemptions from automatic restoration; provides for education on voting rights of people with felony convictions.
Effective Date:
on the effective date of House Joint Resolution 101 or another amendment to the State Constitution which authorizes, or removes impediments to, enactment of this act by the Legislature and shall apply retroactively to all persons who are eligible to vote under its terms, regardless of whether they were convicted or discharged from sentence prior to its effective date.
