Provides that public school choice options include academy programs; requires reimbursement to school districts for reasonable costs for student transportation to certain schools & choice programs; requires DOE to develop plan for establishment of academy programs in public schools; defines term "school" to include academy program for purposes of State Board of Education authority to enforce public school improvement & implement school performance system; changes school grading system to school performance system & specifies performance categories; authorizes school districts to give increased budget authority; changes Florida School Recognition Program to Every Child Matters Program; provides for financial assistance to schools providing remediation & intervention services.
Effective Date: July 1, 2007.
