Driving Under the Influence:
Requires placement of ignition interlock device for certain time period on vehicles of person convicted for fourth or subsequent offense of driving under influence if person obtains restricted license or permit; defines term "continuous alcohol monitoring"; provides for exceptions to prohibition against issuing driver's license or granting driving privileges to person whose license was permanently revoked for certain DUI convictions; revises requirements for reinstatement of driving privileges & issuance of license on restricted basis to person whose license has been revoked for specified DUI offenses; provides requirements for reinstatement of driving privileges & issuance of license on restricted basis to person whose license has been permanently revoked; requires demonstration of abstinence by use of continuous alcohol monitoring for certain time period; requires installation of ignition interlock device for certain time period if person is convicted of fourth or subsequent offense; provides for penalties for violating ignition interlock restrictions.
