Contract Carriers: Applies specified rules & regulations to contract carriers employed by railroad companies; requires contract carrier drivers to hold commercial driver's license; requires contract carriers to perform alcohol & drug testing on drivers; limits duties of contract carrier operators; requires contract carriers to record information & keep logs for minimum of 3 years; requires commercial for-hire carrier companies to maintain insurance coverage; requires DOT to adopt rules regulating such contract carriers; requires department to inform contract carriers & railroad companies of applicable requirements & statutes.
