Florida Retirement System: Revises provisions relating to participation in FRS; excludes participation of certain persons & entities; revises provisions relating to receiving credit for past or prior service; revises provisions relating to retirement benefits; deletes restriction on reemployment of certain personnel by Florida School for Deaf & Blind; extends period of time that certain personnel may participate in DROP; provides for suspension of DROP benefits to participant who is reemployed; authorizes Division of Retirement to issue benefits pursuant to qualified domestic relations order directly to alternate payee; revises provisions relating to receiving retirement credit for out-of-state service; provides that member is not eligible for & may not receive benefit based on such service; revises provisions relating to receiving retirement credit for in-state service; provides that member may not be eligible for or receive benefit based on such service; provides requirements for State Retirement Commission; deletes provision preventing certain persons from renewing membership in FRS upon reemployment; repeals provisions relating to instructional personnel reemployment after retirement from developmental research school or Florida School for Deaf & Blind; repeals provisions relating to instructional personnel reemployment after retirement from charter school; repeals provisions relating to interstate compacts relating to pension portability.
