General Bill
Children with Disabilities:
Creates "Window of Opportunity Act"; revises provisions relating to eligibility for enrollment in Medikids; provides conditions for enrollment of new applicants in Florida Healthy Kids program & limits enrollment in Medikids program; limits lifetime maximum of health benefits coverage for certain services; authorizes AHCA to seek federal approval through state plan amendment to provide home & community-based services for autism spectrum disorder & other development disabilities; directs AHCA to coordinate with APD & DOH to select submitted in state plan amendment; authorizes certain licensing boards to require continuing education on developmental disabilities; directs OIR to establish work group to develop compact relating to coverage for insured persons with development disabilities; provides health insurance coverage & HMO coverage for individuals with developmental disabilities; provides coverage for certain screening to diagnose & treat developmental disabilities; provides limitations on coverage; expands eligibility for John McKay Scholarships to VPK students; authorizes scholarship services at nonschool sites; establishes VPK option for children with disabilities; revises duties of regional autism centers & diagnostic & learning resources centers; establishes system of learning gateways.
