Performing Arts Center Funding:
Revises DOR to distribute tax specified proceeds to include performing arts centers; designates OTTED as state agency for screening applicants for performing arts center funding; requires OTTED to adopt funding application rules; specifies certification duties of OTTED; specifies uses of funds; requires OTTED to notify DOR of certifications; authorizes DOR to conduct audits to verify expenditures; authorizes DOR to recover misused funds.
Authorizes counties to impose additional 1 percent tax to pay debt service on bonds issued for museum or performing arts center; provides exclusion from prohibition against specified counties from imposing additional tax; specifies uses of proceeds of other tourist development taxes after retirement of bonds paid for by such tax proceeds; specifies requirements for use by county tourism promotion agency; revises provisions specifying authorized uses of revenues.
