HB 403 (2010) -  Derelict Motor Vehicles and Mobile Homes

Revises requirements for disposition of motor vehicle, recreational vehicle, or mobile home that is sold, transported, or delivered to salvage motor vehicle dealer or secondary metals recycler; requires certificates of title to conform to specified provisions; provides for dealer or recycler to apply to DHSMV for derelict motor vehicle certificate if certificate of title, salvage certificate of title, or certificate of destruction is not available; provides that person engaged in business of recovering, towing, or storing vehicles & claiming certain liens may not use derelict motor vehicle certificate application to dispose of motor vehicle at salvage motor vehicle dealer or metal recycler without otherwise obtaining title to vehicle or certificate of destruction.
