General Bill
Physician Workforce:
Repeals provisions relating to Community Hospital Education Act & Community Hospital Education Council; revises list of governmental stakeholders that DOH is required to work with regarding state strategic plan & in assessing state's physician workforce; creates Physician Workforce Advisory Council; provides duties of council; establishes physician workforce graduate medical education innovation pilot projects under DOH; provides purposes of pilot projects; provides for appropriation of state funds for pilot projects; requires pilot projects to meet certain policy needs of physician workforce in state; provides criteria for prioritizing proposals for pilot projects; requires DOH to adopt performance measures; requires participating pilot projects to submit annual report to DOH; requires state funds to be used to supplement funds from other sources; requires DOH to determine, by geographic area & specialty, number of physicians & osteopathic physicians who plan to relocate outside state, practice medicine in state, & reduce or modify scope of their practice; authorizes DOH to report additional information in its findings to Governor & Legislature.
