General Bill
Mental Health:
Revises part I of ch. 394, F.S., relating to Florida Mental Health Act, to redefine, define, conform, & delete terms; revises provisions relating to requirements for background screening of mental health professionals, physical examination & psychiatric evaluation, & rights of individuals receiving treatment & services; requires facilities to provide procedures for reporting events that place individuals receiving services at risk of harm & information regarding advance directives; provides immunity from liability for law enforcement officer acting in good faith; requires minor's assent to voluntary admission; requires individual who has been voluntarily or involuntarily admitted & charged with crime to be returned to custody of law enforcement agency after discharge; revises procedures for holding person for involuntary examination & for emergency situations; authorizes public facility to request transfer of individual to private facility.
