HB 1359 (2010) -  Detention by Licensed Security Officers

Authorizes certain licensed security officers to detain certain individuals until arrival of law enforcement officer; provides limits on such detention; requires that such security officers notify appropriate law enforcement agency as quickly as possible; requires transfer of alleged offender to custody of officer; authorizes limited searches of certain persons when licensed security officer has probable cause to believe that person is armed with dangerous weapon; requires that seized weapons be provided to responding law enforcement officer; defines "probable cause" for purpose of temporarily detaining person suspected of having committed crime.
