General Bill
Immigration:
Creates pt. II of ch. 787, F.S., entitled "Immigration"; prohibits limitation or restriction of enforcement of federal immigration laws; provides that violation of specified federal law constitutes offense of willful failure to complete or carry alien registration document; establishes offense of smuggling human beings for profit or commercial purpose; makes it unlawful for person who is unlawfully present in U.S. & is unauthorized alien to knowingly apply for work, solicit work in public place, or perform work as employee or independent contractor; prohibits transporting concealing, harboring, or shielding of alien from detection; prohibits employer from knowingly or intentionally employing unauthorized alien; requires employers to verify employment eligibility of employees through federal E-Verify program; requires immobilization or impoundment of vehicles used in furtherance of illegal presence of alien; provides for arrest without warrant when probable cause exists to believe that person to be arrested has committed any public offense that makes person removable from U.S.; provides for determination of arrested person's immigration status; prohibits consideration of race, color, or national origin in implementing requirements; provides penalties.
