HB 557 (2012) -  Supervised Visitation and Exchange Monitoring

Adopts state standards for supervised visitation programs; provides for modification; requires standards to be published; requires each program to annually affirm compliance; provides that after specified date only those programs that adhere to state standards may receive state funding; provides factors for court or child-placing agency to consider when referring cases for supervised visitation or exchange monitoring; specifies training requirements for persons providing services; authorizes programs to alert court to problems with cases; requires programs to conduct background checks of employees & volunteers; provides that certain persons providing services at supervised visitation program are presumed to act in good faith & are immune from civil or criminal liability.
