HB 583 (2017) -  Damages Recoverable for the Cost of Medical or Health Care Services

Provides for calculation of award of damages for certain medical or health care services paid or owed by claimant or governmental or commercial insurance payor; provides that individual contracts between providers & licensed commercial insurers or licensed health maintenance organizations are not subject to discovery or disclosure & are not admissible into evidence in certain actions; provides that amount of lien or subrogation claim asserted by Medicaid, Medicare, or payor regulated under Florida Insurance Code for certain past medical expenses, is maximum amount recoverable & admissible into evidence.
