SB 438 (2021) -  Investigations of Officer-involved Deaths

Requiring that each law enforcement agency have a written policy regarding the investigation of officer-involved deaths; authorizing internal investigations under certain circumstances; authorizing compensation for certain investigations to be determined in a manner consistent with mutual aid agreements; requiring such investigators to publicly release the completed report, redacted as required by law, if the state attorney determines that there is no basis to prosecute the law enforcement officer involved, etc.
