Uniform Traffic Control: Defines the term "traffic infraction detector"; authorizes pilot projects in Palm Beach County; authorizes adoption of ordinances permitting the use of traffic infraction detectors; provides for penalties for violations detected by such detectors; exempts certain vehicles from the ordinance; provides procedures to participate in the project; provides for citation content; provides for process of citations issued; limits scope; provides for liability for payment of fine; provides for contest in court; provides for evidence of facts; provides procedures for enforcement of outstanding violations; provides for personnel for enforcement; provides for use of funds; requires report to Governor and Legislature; provides for future repeal; provides that traffic infraction detectors must meet requirements established by the Department of Transportation; prohibits vehicle registration when fines are outstanding.
Effective Date: This act shall take effect upon becoming a law
