Technical Amendment
Definition:
A non-substantive amendment used to correct errors such as spelling, numbering, incorrect coding, or directory language. The Rules & Policy Committee may make technical corrections of a purely non-substantive nature to legislative measures.

Definition:
The postponing of consideration of a bill or other legislative matter appearing on an agenda or calendar.

Term Limits
Definition:

The constitutional limits on the number of consecutive terms a member may serve in the same Chamber. Section 4 of Article VI of the State Constitution limits legislators to eight consecutive years.

Trust Fund
Definition:
A special account into which certain funds are deposited and out of which funds are disbursed for a specific and exclusive purpose.

Trust Fund Bill
Definition:
A bill that sets up a trust fund. Section 19(f) of Article III of the State Constitution mandates that trust fund bills that create or re-create a trust fund pass by a vote of three-fifths of the membership of each house. In addition, the State Constitution requires that the Legislature periodically review trust funds to determine whether they should be terminated, modified, made exempt from review, or re-created without modification. Section 215.3208, Florida Statutes, provides the schedule for termination and review of trust funds.
