Medication of Children : Creates the Center for Juvenile Psychotropic Studies within the Department of Psychiatry of the College of Medicine of the University of Florida; provides the purpose of the center; provides for the appointment of a director; creates an advisory board; provides for board membership; requires the center to work with the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Agency for Health Care Administration; requires certain data relating to dependent minors for whom psychotropic medications have been prescribed to be made available to the center; requires the center to report to legislative leaders by a specified date; provides for future repeal; specifies that a parent's refusal to administer psychotropic medication to a child shall not constitute grounds for the Department of Children and Family Services to take the child into custody; provides exceptions; provides that it is unlawful for certain child care facility personnel to administer medication to a child without written authorization; provides an exception in the case of an emergency medical condition; provides penalties; requires district school board policies to prohibit personnel from recommending the use of psychotropic medications for students.
