Homestead Exemptions: Authorizes counties and municipalities to provide by ordinance an additional up to $25,000 homestead exemption to persons who have elderly parents living with them instead of in facilities for the elderly; provides ordinance requirements; requires the Department of Revenue to adopt rules; requires the ordinance to be provided to the property appraiser; requires notification of the property appraiser if the ordinance is repealed; provides criteria and requirements for receiving the exemption; provides for tax liens against property of persons receiving the exemption without entitlement; provides a contingent effective date.
