General Bill
Care and Treatment of Children:
Authorizes the Department of Children and Family Services to have a health screening performed on certain children; provides components of a health screening; provides requirements and procedures for obtaining authorization for medical care and treatment; provides for mental and physical examinations, educational assessments, and additional services; provides requirements for authorization to prescribe or administer psychotropic medication; provides parental right to consent or refuse to consent to medical care and treatment; provides financial responsibility for the cost of care and treatment; requires the department to prepare and maintain a child resource record and provides contents thereof; provides for the sharing of certain information and for inspection of a child resource record by certain persons; provides for confidentiality of records in accordance with ch. 39, F.S., and specified federal provisions; requires rulemaking; provides for application; provides for the physical or mental examination of a parent or person requesting custody of a child; requires the department to complete a medical evaluation of certain children.
