HB 1885 (2004) -  Patient Safety

Creates the Florida Patient Safety Corporation; authorizes the corporation to create not-for-profit corporate subsidiaries; specifies that the corporation and certain subsidiaries are not government agencies; requires the corporation and certain subsidiaries to be subject to public meetings and records requirements; exempts the corporation and certain subsidiaries from certain provisions relating to procurement of personal property and services; provides a purpose for the corporation; establishes the membership of the board of directors of the corporation; requires certain advisory committees for the corporation; requires the Agency for Health Care Administration to provide assistance in establishing the corporation; specifies the powers and duties of the corporation; requires annual reports; requires the corporation to seek private-sector funding and apply for grants for certain purposes; requires the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability, the Agency for Health Care Administration, and the Department of Health to develop performance measures for the corporation; requires a performance audit.
