Unauthorized Insurers: Clarifies nonapplication of prohibitions against representing or aiding unauthorized insurers to independently procured coverage; authorizes the Office of Insurance Regulation or the Department of Financial Services to issue cease and desist orders; authorizes the office to investigate accounts, records, documents, and transactions pertaining to unauthorized insurers; specifies nonapplication of provisions relating to penalties for persons cooperating with the office in administering the Unauthorized Insurers Process Law; applies requirements imposed on unauthorized insurers in bringing actions to additional actions; provides a time period for unauthorized insurers to file motions.
