HB 1293 (2005) -  Restitution and Other Court-Ordered Payments

Requires that the Department of Corrections transfer to the Department of Revenue by December 31, 2006, responsibility for collecting and disbursing restitution and other court-ordered payments; authorizes the Department of Revenue to enter into a contract with a private vendor to operate the collection and disbursement system; requires the Department of Corrections to establish a payment schedule for each offender and to provide this information to the Department of Revenue; provides for restitution payments to be deposited into the Crimes Compensation Trust Fund when the Department of Revenue is unable to locate the victim.
Effective Date: upon becoming a law.
