HB 1815 CS (2005) -  State Financial Matters

Redefines the term "termination"; provides reemployment requirements for the Public Employee Optional Retirement Program; changes the requirements of the Department of Management Services' designation of a fifth company to provide services under the state university optional retirement program; redefines the terms "eligible employee" and "participant" for purposes of the Public Employee Optional Retirement Program; prescribes certain conditions on participation in the program; deletes references to the program's advisory committees; prescribes procedures for, and certain presumptions relating to, designation of beneficiaries; provides for participation by terminated DROP participants; provides for cancellation of certain payment instruments under the program when not presented for payment; provides for payment upon subsequent application and for forfeiture when not claimed within a certain period; provides for designation of beneficiaries for death benefits; authorizes investments in asset-backed securities.
