HB 1197 (2006) -  Restraint of Juveniles

Provides for development and maintenance of a protective action response policy by the Department of Juvenile Justice that consists of policies and procedures on the use of physical force and restraining devices; provides for certification of instructors; provides for training in the policy; provides legislative intent concerning mechanical restraint of juveniles; requires authorization for such restraint; restricts when mechanical restraint may be used; prohibits specified forms of restraint; limits the period of restraint; provides requirements during the period of restraint.
Effective Date: October 1, 2006.
